I’m pretty tired tonight so this will be a short update.  Josiah had another day of chemo and even though it makes him pretty tired, he gets up and takes walks.  He’s such a trooper and I’m so proud of him!  He will probably get more tired as the days go by with his lowest point being sometime next week.  Pray that he remains healthy and strong.

I haven’t been on the computer all day because Ava was brought to visit this afternoon and I spent almost every moment with her.  It was such good medicine for all of us to see her smiling face and get her hugs and kisses and listen to her sweet voice…but it was hard saying good-bye again.  I know she is in great hands and is totally fine, but I miss her.  We took lots of walks down the hallways and had lots of good talks.  It was so weird walking the same halls with Ava that I used to walk alone when she was in the hospital.  Unfortunately it rained all day so we couldn’t go out and play on the play ground, but I did take her up to the PICU to see where she stayed when she was a baby and we were able to visit with some of her old nurses.  They are so sweet!

I’m going to go hit the sack.  Thank you for all of your encouraging words and prayers.

  1. Praying for you guys as I wake up this morning. Praying for renewed strength for Josiah today, for the chemo to rid his body of the cancer, for God to sustain you both through this time. Praying you sense His presence today…

  2. Hello Josiah and Jess! I want you both to know you are in the prayers of those on the East Coast! I pray that God will renew your strength each day and that Josiah will recover and be healed quickly and without any side effects! You have already seen the Hand of God at work in your little Ava. What an amazing miracle! Psalm 18:2 The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, My God, my Rock, in whom I take refuge. God Bless!

  3. Dear Josiah and Jessica:

Grandpa and I are relishing the visit we had with you in Coralville. It brings back the sweet memories of that day with you and your wonderful little son, Lincoln. That smile of his is hypnotizing!! We loved every minute.

We are appreciating all your news, Jessica. You and Josiah astound all of us with your amazing faith in the Lord. What an inspiration you are to everyone! It affirms everyone’s faith too that He is in charge and though we don’t understand His ways we must believe and continue to follow Him.

“To live by faith is to live by joy, confidence and certainty about all that has to be done or suffered at each moment by God’s will.”

“Through everything that does not partake of sin, the faithful soul should go forward with confidence, taking each circumstance as a veil, or disguise of God…. We are troubled and disturbed, yet nevertheless in our depths we have some unseen anchor that keeps us clinging to God.”

These words have been encouraging to me whenever times are rough. However, we have living proof of living faith in two wonderful young people to bring all of these words to life! We love you, Josiah and Jessica, so much. God’s Blessings be upon you, Ava and Lincoln.

    Our prayers are continuing,

    Grandma Elaine & Grandpa Al

  5. Howdy you two. Lost for words, and words not being by strong point I just had to tell you how much we all love you and we are praying night and day for you, neither one of you ever leaves my thoughts. You are a remarkable family and the faith you have will change alot of lives this I know! God never said living for him would be a rose garden, but my did he give us some roses to gaze upon when he created you guys and those little ones are his rose buds. May you continue to bloom thru this storm and we will wait for the SON to Shine in you. Love and Prayers always. Aunt Debi 🙂

  6. Jess, twice in one day I saw the the following sentence: “Where God guides, He provides.” I am praying that God would provide you, Josiah and your children with peace, mercy, grace, healing, joy, endurance, faith, hope and just an overwhelming sense of His presence during this time. I will also be praying for little Ava to be happy and good while with those taking care of her and for little Lincoln to be an easy baby that allows you to focus your attention on Josiah. Thank you for keeping us all updated. I know that even that probably takes effort and can be emotional. But your testimony continues to shine forth all around the world and God is glorified! Lifting you up, Cathy

  7. Hi Jess & Josiah, as I prayed for you this morning I prayed God would preform a miracle for Josiah and He would guide him through the rough days. You are continually in my thoughts and prayers through out the day.
Your faith and praise to God are amazing but we do have an amazing Lord don’t we.
    Love you all much,
    Aunt Kate
