Linker

Lincoln has been at my parent’s house since Monday and we have been missing him like CRAZY!  My mom brought him to the hospice house for a while on Friday and it was so good for both of us.  We love our baby boy!  So, I’m taking the time to brag about my little son…because, again, I can and because I always keep things fair and even between my kids…..Ha!

Link – 13 months old and so much fun!  He almost always has a smile on his cute little face and he LOVES to laugh. He is soooo determined and not much will sway him if he’s got his mind set on something.  He’ll go over, under, but mostly just right through something to get at whatever he wants.  That’s why he’s earned the nickname “little tank”….also a reason why his birthday party had a camo theme which is when we took the family picture on our blog. Lincoln will even go so far as to come up with pretty ingenious ways of distracting us just so he can get at what he wants.  And what does he do when he is caught being naughty? He smiles real cute, trying to get away with it.  Lately, when he’s gotten in trouble he will close his eyes and put this sad look on his face and fake cry to try to show some remorse, then he will peek at us to see if we are watching.  Yep, he’s a stinker!  But such a cute stinker that it’s hard not to laugh sometimes.  He started walking about a month before his birthday and now walks exclusively.  I love this stage.  It’s just so funny seeing such a little person toddling around!  He’s really trying to run now…mostly to keep up with his big sister.  He wants to do everything she does and learns things early because he’s watching her so closely.  He learned how to get his teeth brushed because of watching Ava and gets so excited about it when it’s his turn.  He’s also learning how to fold his hands when we pray, which is super adorable. He’s trying to say some words.  So far, beyond momma and dada, he says “hi” and “fishy”.  He is all about making noise though…just a typical boy!  We love it!  He still gives amazing hugs…when you can catch him that is and he gives open mouth, slobbery kisses.  Love that too!  His favorite toy right now is the tool-box Josiah bought him for Christmas.  The hammer is his favorite and he carries it around everywhere and very intently “fixes” everything. He somehow just knows how to use the rest of the tools too…isn’t it amazing how God just ingrains these things in our kids.  I love to see the differences in my boy and my girl.  Wow, are they different!  I have given Lincoln 4 haircuts already, and his hair still does what it wants.  I wouldn’t want it any other way…it suits him. Getting him dressed is like a wrestling match…we are working on patience in that area.  He knows the sign for “all done” which I use when I’m done changing his diaper or dressing him.  He also waves bye-bye and is very proud of that.  We are working on animal sounds, but he’s not too interested in that yet.  He loves trucks and he loves stacking blocks.  He knows what noise an airplane makes and flys his fighter jet all around the house.  He is very busy and loves to climb on things and even though he knows how to get back down, sometimes he gets this look on his face and you know he’s going to just step off.  He tries so hard to be funny and make people laugh.  He does not like to be left out of anything and lets you know about it.  He loves food and is definitely not a picky eater.  He has started to be a moocher like his sister, which can be tricky with all his allergies.  After learning about his food allergies (milk, eggs, and peanuts), and changing his diet because of that, his skin has cleared up a lot and he has become a really good sleeper.  YAY!  Neither of my kids have slept through the night until they were after a year old….not fun, but it makes me appreciate it even more when they start 🙂

I love the mischief and curiosity in his eyes.  He’s just so fun to watch!  We have big prayers for our little guy and we know that our big God has amazing plans for his life.

I love you Buddy-Boy!

P.S.  I will update on Josiah soon.  Pain management is getting more under control.  I’m just missing being at home with my babies if you can’t tell 🙂
