Lincoln-ese Dictionary

Some of Link’s current often used words and phrases:

  • “Here it is!” = one of his first phrases and said as one long word.
  • “Peeeees” = Please
  • “Es-shear” = Right here
  • “Too-Time” = Food time.
  • “Ga-em” = Got ’em
  • “Gee-em” = Get ’em
  • “Bap-bees” = Batteries (usually accompanied by him holding up a toy and often a screw driver too)
  • “Ah-K” = OK
  • “I know?” = I don’t know (when said with hands upturned and shoulders shrugged until neck disappears)
  • “Ah Go?” = Where did it go?
  • “Dummm” = Jump
  • “Di, di, di” = Dig, dig, dig. Usually a back-hoe
  • “Wound, wound, wound” = Round, round, round. Usually means cement truck.
  • “Crane-crane” = Crane. (these are currently one of his favorite things)
  • (Pushes on himself with his hand) = Means bulldozer (don’t ask)
  • “Flys” = Any bug. Could also mean flys. He currently likes to pretend they are on the ceiling and shoots them with his gun.
  • “Flys. ah gone” = Flys are all gone. Usually said after he is done with the afore-mentioned activity.
  • “Choo-choo” = train
  • “Car-Car” = Any vehicle smaller than a pick-up truck.
  • “Taaaah!” = Tah Dah
  • “Gunnn” = Gun
  • “Ah-E-E” = Monkey. Could also mean Curious George, or Curious George band-aids
  • “Ruff” = Puppy
  • “Ooow”= Kitty
  • “Quack, quack” = yep, you guessed it, duck (also knows cow and sheep)
  • “Grrrrr” = (whispered) he is the quietest bear/lion you will ever meet
  • “G-noooow = Snow
  • “Cwying” = Crying.  Usually used when informing me that he has been crying.  I’m sure to make me feel guilty…it works.
  • “By-eeeeee” = Bye. Said very loudly.
  • “Laaalou” = Love you. My favorite 🙂
  • “Wow! Cooo!” = Wow! Cool! He said this after opening most of his Christmas gifts. Also said when he sees something really exciting (like a truck)

He says most things loudly and with gusto.  He also still says a lot of gibberish and I LOVE that. Ava didn’t jabber much at all so I’m enjoying his “baby talk” as long as it lasts 🙂

I whip my hair back and forth, I whip my hair back and forth

(and now if you know that song you can’t get it out of your head 🙂  You’re welcome.  Don’t worry, if you don’t know it, you are not missing much)

Yes, this post is all about my hair for several reasons.  One, I teased you all with mention of my new hair and never showed you a picture…such a bad blogger.  Two, we’ve all been sick this week…again…and I need the reminder that I don’t always look terrible like I do right now.  Three, I want to start having more fun with this blog, maybe add some humor now and then (and everyone breathes a sigh of relief and says “Glory Hallelujah!”) because heaven knows I need as much of that as I can get.

So, without further adieu…my hair (you know, now that the color is going back to normal…but it’s still relevant):

I know I called my hair color “brunette” and it looks red in the photo.  But in my defense, it was actually brunette with a touch of red right after I had it colored and has slowly become more red.  Just wanted to clarify.  Continue…

Ava took this one when we went on a date…to Starbucks of course 🙂

Not a great picture (poor Link just woke up from a nap), but I don’t have a lot of pics of my myself so I can’t be too choosy.

I know you can’t see my hair color in this one (trust me, our eyes were so red you don’t want to see it in color), but I like it and it’s our Christmas photo that I never shared.  You’re welcome.

And…

The end.
