Catching Up

We did come home on Sunday Praise the Lord!  Josiah has been doing better every day, but the fatigue is starting to set in.  It’s been so wonderful to be together as a family again and to catch up on things around the house.  Josiah gets his blood drawn on Thursday to get his blood counts, but other than that we are hoping for a quiet week.  The kids are very happy to be back at home and sleeping in their own beds, and while I’m busy being mom, wife, and nurse, I’m so happy to be home as well.  I will continue to update when I have the time.  Thank you so so so much for your prayers and encouragement, they continue to bless and sustain us!  God is good.

  1. I am so happy that you are all able to be home together for now. Jess, I read all of your posts. I only wish I had the strength you show. You are AMAZing. 🙂 MY heart goes out to you as I think of you and Josiah daily. God only will give you what you can handle as you face this new challenge. God is good all the time. May you find peace in him as you go through everyday’s big and small hurdles with Josiah and the little ones. I look up to you Jess. I love you girl!

  2. We’re thankful you are able to be at home and can enjoy some much needed family time. Keep pressing on Jess, I’m sure you are doing a fabulous job of being everything all at once.
Josiah, be nice to your nurse 🙂

    Love, Rob and Julie

  3. Glad to hear that you are back home and resting. Everything is good here, been praying for you.
You have a very strong family and great support group. miss ya buddy.

  4. It was good to read that you are home. For some reason, home is just always a “cure”!! We pray for you daily and the little ones as well. Thank you for keeping us up to date. We appreciate you taking the time to journal.

  5. Just wondering if they have ever given Josiah’s cancer a name…? On your fb, I sent you info on a new adult study that will be starting up on sarcomas. I don’t know when yet, but there is enough info on fb that you should be able to find the website and get the info. They are currently gathering specimens for childhood sarcomas (kali’s tumor included).

    Keeping you in our prayers.

  6. Dear Josiah, Jess, Ava, and Lincoln,

Our hearts are with you through this. We have walked this road and know how tough it can be – the nights you lay awake with questions that no one on earth can answer. Josiah, I know that the battle will grow long and weary and you will be like Paul who wanted to go home to be with the Lord but knew it was more beneficial to stay here. I have often felt that if my body didn’t go on autopilot and breathe, I wouldn’t have the strength to do it. Jess, the sidelines are not easy – harder, actually, and we pray for you so much through this – there just aren’t enough words to tell you what we feel for you. When I am facing watching that poison go into my body each week or MRIs and the many scans, I think of Proverbs 18:10 “The name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous runs into it and is safe.” I picture myself actually running into the tower, into the arms of God and finding all I need there. Kent and I continue to pray for you. Praise the Lord, either way, He is coming soon!

    Remaining in His Grip,
    Kent and Barb Boyd

  8. I was singing a song today, along with the tape of course – because I can’t carry a tune… The song made me think of you. “It will be worth it all, when we see Jesus. Life’s trials will seem so small, when we see Christ. One look at His sweet face, all sorrows will erase. So bravely run the race – til we see Christ.” You are so bravely running this exhausting race and we gladly help in lifting you up in prayer continually. I know your together time at home has been cut short with a short hospital stay to build up those blood counts…. but with His blood running through Josiah’s veins – He will strengthen you and give you joy and endurance as He works His perfect will through your surrendered lives. What a testimony you are! Love you! Pat LaMantia
