:)

I’m sitting by my hunny, listening to some Casting Crown, and trying to be quiet to let him rest.  I’m watching (and listening) to him sleep and just loving him so much.  As much as my heart yearns for us all to be together at home, we have been able to have some precious times together, just the two of us.  Who knew it would take cancer to get a date with my hubby!  I’m just kidding…but you have to find the humor.  We are still praying for Josiah’s white blood cell count to come up soon so he can go home before we head back to Iowa City next week.  His WBC was at zero last Thursday and he is only at a .8 today.  He needs to be at least at a 4.5 before he can go home.  God is more than able to get that to happen today, so we are praying to that end.  The kids are still doing well…although I believe Lincoln is working on more teeth, poor baby!  I’m hoping we can both get some sleep soon:)  Every night when I get to my parents house Ava comes running to the door and says exuberantly “my mom’s home!”.  It puts a smile on my face every time!  I just love my babies!

Well, Josiah is now up so I think I need to put my game face on and break out a little Four in a row!

  1. Oh Jess! You just make me smile all over! What a blessing to hear you are able to laugh and smile and find strength and encougement and even a little balance in this journey. Here’s a memory verse we’re working on, “I will bless the LORD at all times. His praise shall continually be in my mouth!” Ps. 34:1
    Blessings and love, Cathy

  4. Thinking of you and praying for all of you this morning. “This is the day the Lord has made; I will rejoice and be glad in it.” I’m praying you can get home today!! God bless all of you for your faithfulness to Him.
    Much love,

  5. Please know that our prayers have not stopped for your family. Norm is walking several times a day and prays for you, Barb Boyd and Jeanette Casselberry during those walks. Sometimes he is gone a long time so you are getting many prayers.

    Blessing on you.

  6. Hey Josiah! I have been thinking about you and praying for you and your family.

I am in the transition between the school year and summer. My first year coaching in South Carolina is over, and now I am trying to get ready for year #2. Recruiting, working camps, that kind of stuff this summer.

I am looking forward to visiting my family in Iowa in a few weeks. Hopefully I will get to pull some triggers with Paul and Matt….had fun shooting with you last year!

    Josiah, get well soon!

  7. Josiah and Jessica –

Praying that your long days in the hospital will be filled with comforting thoughts from our God and Savior Christ Jesus.

Things are busy at John Deere, still cranking out the world’s best ag machinery. I just found out I’ll get one week of vacation this summer, and I plan to spend it counseling up at Story Book Lodge Christian camp in the northern woods of Minnesota (Mini-soe-tah). It’s always a good time of saturation in God’s Word, fellowship with other believers, but most of all a chance to share the gospel with many kids who have never heard.

This weekend I’m headed up to Minnesota for a friend’s wedding…it’s that time of year again!

Hope you can spend a minimal amount of time at the Hawkeye hospitals, and return soon to Cyclone country.

A verse for you: “The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” Psalm 18:2

  8. Jessie & Josiah,
Thank you, Jess, for the great updates you are sending us. I love your upbeat attitude and praise to God. Be assured that we are praying for you too. I am sure your mom is enjoying those two darling grandbabies. They are in good hands.

    Judy
