News from the old couple

Sorry I haven’t updated till now, but I was not able to get Internet access in Josiah’s hospital room until now.  All of Josiah’s scans went well and while they showed that his tumors did not grow, they also showed that his tumors didn’t really shrink either.  This is not entirely unexpected, especially after just one round of chemo, of course it’s a little disappointing though.  Josiah is now getting a second round of chemo.  This one is a little bit different though.  It only lasts three days (we should be home on Saturday), and should be easier for him to handle and recover from.  We are in good spirits and feel comfortable with this next step in Josiah’s care.  We’re just hanging out in Josiah room (we have a private room this time!), watching old movies and home improvement shows and playing cards….I think we fit in quite well with all the older couples here 🙂

We appreciate your continued prayers.

  1. Better to be an “old” couple rather than an “odd” couple…:) You both are certainly far from odd – extraordinary or awesome would be the word to describe you both.

One step at a time, one day at a time, seasoned with all the prayers from your family and friends…and you will see this through. We are all thinking and praying for you. Hope the card found it’s way to you alright. We all wanted you to know how special we think your family is and that we are here for you. Lots of love and prayers!

  2. I’m not quite sure how to take that “old” couple comment?!?!?!?!?, but it does sound like a typical evening around this Johnson household that is for sure. Glad to hear they are adjusting your chemo treatment so it won’t be quite as rough of a ride this time. Hope we get to see you soon. We here in Wisconsin are itching to spend some time catching up. Christmas seems like an eternity ago which is when we last saw you. We continue to pray & praise God from whom all blessings flow for you all. Love you guys, Aunt Karan & Uncle Doug

  3. lol! you 2 are far from being ‘old’! can you start keeping a notebook of tips & suggestions from all those great home improvement shows you’re getting to watch!? thanks! 🙂 so glad that the chemo round is lighter and shorter this time and that you have a private suite! PTL that nothing is growing! enjoy your ‘extensive date’! 🙂 lifting you up in prayer EVERYDAY! love you guys!

  4. Don’t you just love movies! I know that I do, it is actually one of my most favorite things to do. Conner and I are house sitting at my sisters. Actually it is more like pet sitting….2 horses, 2 dogs, 6 cats, 2 guinea pigs and numerous chickens. I hear that the plan is to get a milking cow next. It will be an experience for us city-folks. Am glad to hear that your stay will be shorter this time around. There is no place like home. Many prayers lifted to our Lord for you and your family. Much love, Dawn & Conner
