I got to take both my kids to Target today!  OK, that may sound totally crazy to some of you…but it was such a wonderfully “normal” thing to do and I enjoyed it immensely.  Plus, I just love Target, and Ava calls herself a “Target Girl”, and Lincoln just likes to go anywhere, so I think we all had a good time.  Friends of mine from college just had twin boys (who are here in the NICU), so Ava and I had fun shopping for some little gifts for them.  They are super cute!

Anyway, down to business.  Josiah is still here at Methodist…but he seems to be on the upward swing.  We had some rough days with a lot of frustration, which I won’t get into here (thank you to those of you who listened to me vent…you know who you are and I appreciate it so much!).  Josiah could go home as early as tomorrow…we are definitely praying for that.  The kids are having a great time at my parents house and I see them when I can.  They are the sweetest!

  1. Hey Precious ones!
I woke up this morning with this Scripture song on my heart & I thought I’d share….
    Ps. 59:16-17
But as for me,I shall sing of Thy strength.Yes I shall Joyfully sing of Thy Lovingkindness,in the morning, for Thou has been my stronghold, and a refuge in the day of my distress.
    Oh my strength….I will sing….
Praises to Thee, for GOD is my Stronghold,
The God who shows me Lovingkindness.
Josiah & Jess we couldn’t treasure any more than what we do!

  2. Hi Jess and Josiah,
I have been catching up on your posts. I was in Milwaukee two weeks ago helping Erica close up her room and get ready for fall. Then last week, I drove the VBS van to pick up the children in the Huxley trailer park. What an eye opening experience that was and what an impact that made on my life. One of the little girls that rode with me died unexpectedly on Sunday morning. Put a damper on our program Sunday night. My energy level was pretty low last week, so I did not even get on the computer. I have been praying for you and was glad to take the time today to catch up. I am glad you got to experience “normal” for a time…a trip to Target!!! I cannot even begin to imagine how hard this is. I do know how stress can put you on edge. Songs are good, they seem to always help me. Dealing with the chronic pain I have makes me pray all the harder for Josiah. I have no idea of his pain but I do know that pain makes it hard to “be”. I pray for the children too. I am sorry if I am not making a lot of sense…just know I love you all and I continually pray for you.

  3. Josiah & Jessica,
Continuing to pray many times each day. Thank you for taking your time to post….it helps to know how to specifically pray. We sometimes feel helpless in knowing what to do to help. Please know that we are here for you and your precious family. We are praying for wisdom for the medical staff as they continue to search for ways to combat the cancer in you, Josiah. We are praying for strength, comfort, peace, pain control, your kiddos, complete healing, rest…..all of this, but our first priority prayer is God’s will and that HE will be glorified in all of this journey. Know that we love you all but also know that we serve a God who loves you even more. Thank you for showing us His love through your struggles.
Hugs and blessings for the day,
    Judy

  6. Dear Josiah & Jess:

Thank you so much, Jess, for taking the time to post on your site. I don’t know if this is a taxing thing or not, but please do know that it is a gift to your support team. Your updates help us to know how to specifically pray and also help us to feel close and intimate with you and your little ones. We continue to lift you up before the King’s throne knowing that He is intimately acquainted with your family and He is involved. We pray specifically for His will and His plan to be fulfilled and that He will help us all join in the battle. We pray for health and healing and restoration and grace, but above all else, we pray for His peace which surpasses all understanding. His peace will guard your hearts and your minds as you trust in Christ Jesus. This peace is not like the world’s peace, it transcends situations and circumstances and places you right in the middle of the kingdom work at hand. God is good and we all know that He is faithful. No weapon formed against Josiah shall prosper. This is our battle cry.

We send you love from Wisconsin today and everyday,
