We had a long, exhausting day yesterday.  We had meetings with four different doctors (one of which we met with a couple times) between 10am and 4pm…none stop.  Not even for lunch.  We are home now and praying about some decisions.  We appreciate your prayers as we work through this.  In a nut shell, surgery no longer seems like the best option and we are now looking at other options for chemo and radiation.

  1. Were definitely praying for you! I see the struggles everyday that each family goes- not the same ones- but similar. I knowthat my co- workers were amazed at the strength of your Faith. You ARE being light on a hilltop through this. I’m praying for wisdom and peace in your decisions and always- confidence that you are never out of God’s grip. Also praying for competent, caring staff to care for Josiah.

  3. Our prayers are also with you as you make decisions. We are also praying for the medical staff as they guide you through all of this and as you are a testimony of your stedfast faith. We know that God’s hand is in this and we are praying HE will direct your paths as only HE can!
    Much love,

  4. We’re praying for great wisdom for you both, as well as all the medical staff involved. God already knows the path you’ll take, and we’ll pray that He’ll make it unmistakably clear which one to follow. We love you, and we’re praying!

  5. When everything seems so confusing, complicated and overwhelming, it’s great to know God is in control. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom”. You two do fear the Lord and I am confident He will continue to direct your path and make your choice an obvious one. I’m praying for peace of mind and a peaceful night (are you listening, Lincoln?)!

  6. I am catching up on posts today. I cried through your June 25th post….when I can’t smile another, I use His…when it is hard to get up one more time, I use His strength. Oh, Jess and Josiah…we pray continually for you. We will continue to pray for you and the wisdom you need for your decisions.

  7. I’ll be praying for you every time I see your family this week, which be a lot since there are a lot of them. 🙂 Our staff is praying for you as well. You are much loved!

  8. Josiah & Jess:

“Those whoese lives have had the deepest spiritual impact in the world are those who have suffered. In God’s mysterous providence, the cross and the crown, suffering and glory are linked.” E. Elliot

You are impacting His world, and how we praise His name because of you. Stay steady, hold on, be of good courage. He has overcome the world on your behalf and He will give you strength.

We join all the others who are praying for direction for you at this time.

    love from Wisconsin,

  9. Praying for wisdom and direction for you. I know that God brings you to people’s minds just when you need the prayers! I’m sure there isn’t a minute that goes by where someone isn’t thinking about you and praying for your family. I will continue to pray!

  10. Josiah and Jess:

We wanted you to know that we are lifting you both up to God’s throne of Grace several times a day in prayer. David, my husband, has been battling cancer for over 2 years. It has been a rough time for our family. We can relate to what you are going through and therefore feel a burden to pray for you without fail. Keep your eyes upon Jesus. Our God is still on the throne and He will never forsake His own. We pray that His peace will fill your hearts and drive away all of your fears. God bless you both and your precious children.

  11. Josiah and Jess,
I continue to pray for you guys. You are both so young and have already weathered so much. Your love for each other and for God is definitely what is needed right now. Stay strong. I pray that the medical staff will help guide you and do what is best for you. Josiah, continue to fight!!! We’ve already seen the strength of prayer shown through Ava’s wonderful journey. We love you and will keep up the prayers for all of you.
