Home again!

Josiah did indeed come home yesterday afternoon!  He is doing pretty well, although he is very tired and his muscles are sore.  A new and rather interesting side affect he has experienced this time is a bad case of the hick-ups.  I’m not kidding.  As an example of how well he is doing, just a couple hours after he got home yesterday, Josiah went to the kitchen and poured himself a glass of juice.  That may not sound like much but is a huge difference from previous chemo cycles where he wouldn’t be able to even think about getting something like that for himself.

The kids are loving being home and together (we split them up between our parents).  We are praying for an uneventful week that does not include another hospital stay!

  1. The Gift

    Josiah & Jess:

You have no idea how deeply you touch those with whom you share. We who witness your journey stand back in awe and bend our knee to the King in praise of His name.

As parents, our main goal in life is to see that our children are grounded in Christ. We teach and train and teach and train and sometimes drive you all nuts with our furvor and passion. When the way gets rough for our children we say; “turn into the Lord, my child, He is your Source.” I cannot begin to expres the unspeakable joy that comes when you see your children walk alone with the Shepherd.

It is so apparent that you two have been drinking deeply from the Fountain of life. In doing so, you encourage and strengthen the rest of us. There is no greater joy than to witness intimacy with Christ. Suddenly the children become the teachers. What a gift!

we love you tenderly and deeply,

  2. Well said my Dear Dee,all I can say is AMEN & AMEN.

Josiah my son & Jess my Delight.
Not only are you precious to your father & I,
But more so to our Heavenly Father, who is well pleased as He draws you near to Himself. Cuddle up to Him as He whispers His will to you.
As we go forward He will guide you and we will be there as you know.Always.
    Waiting on Him.
We LOVE YOU SO SO MUCH!!!!!!!! oxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

  3. Oh my how I love to read your journals. I organize a Prayer Meeting every Tuesday morning where I share your progress and updates and we pray for you – every week – and in between. This morning we were so moved in praying for you that tears just flowed from everyone. What moves me the most is that you two represent the struggles and trials we all face and fear – in monumentous proportion – and your responses represent how we all imagine we might respond if we were totally surrendered to Christ – how we WISH we would respond – in our dreams. How we admire your testimony and your Christ-like character and faith. You are such an inspiration and a living encouragement. You give so many of us the hope to keep trusting God when our flesh fails. To God be the Glory.

  4. Jess, thank you so much for sharing your days, thoughts & prayers! They are such an encouragement to me! Miss you 4 very, very much!
