waiting

While I’m Waiting :
I’m waiting
I’m waiting on You, Lord
And I am hopeful
I’m waiting on You, Lord
Though it is painful
But patiently, I will wait

I will move ahead, bold and confident
Takeing every step in obedience
While I’m waiting
I will serve You
While I’m waiting
I will worship
While I’m waiting
I will not faint
I’ll be running the race
Even while I wait

I’m waiting
I’m waiting on You, Lord
And I am peaceful
I’m waiting on You, Lord
Though it’s not easy
But faithfully, I will wait
Yes, I will wait
I will serve You while I’m waiting
I will worship while I’m waiting
I will serve You while I’m waiting
I will worship while I’m waiting
I will serve you while I’m waiting
I will worship while I’m waiting on You, Lord

  1. That has wonderful words, Jess. A good reminder that we all need to be doing that also. I do not think I have quit praying. I woke many times during the night and lifted you all before the throne of grace. The song “Runner” by Twila Paris kept going through my mind. It has a beautiful message. I was listening to 940 this morning waiting for Swindoll’s program and the two songs they played in the interim were It is Well With My Soul and Great is Thy Faithfulness. My thoughts were immediately with you. Seems I cannot stop the tears. My heart aches. I will be continuing to pray…

  2. Dear Jessica and Josiah, I was thinking of both of you and your families as I was listening to that song last night. You are constantly on my mind and in my prayers. As many have mentioned, your faith in the Lord and your praise to the Lord have challenged and inspired me. My heart aches for all of you….. continuing to lift you up to the Father…

  3. What a beautiful testimony! Praying for God’s comfort and Peace to continue to fill you, that He will wrap you in HIs arms and that you will FEEL His love in the midst of all of your pain. Our hearts are aching with you.

  4. Jess and Josiah-words cannot express my heart for you both and your family. I too am constantly thinking about you all and praying for you. Know that through your life and lives GOD HAS BEEN MAGNIFIED AND GLORIFIED. My heart is waiting with you and praying with you daily (several times a day). I have grown to love your family even from Kansas City. I prayed this morning that Jesus’ arms would so encompass your family. Love you guys and praying much for you!

    In His Grip-always,

  5. We continue to pray and marvel at the strength our God has equipped you with. May God continue to be magnified through all you are going through. We love you.
    Blessings for a peaceful night.

  6. I echo both Margie and Judy: We pray with you and worship with you. We are blessed to witness your faith–you all are making Jesus real to everyone around you. And we’re praying for a restful, peaceful night for you both.

  7. We went to bible study last night and Clint shared an update about Josiah. Later in the study, God laid some things on my heart. I wasn’t going to post it, but I think maybe I should. It was about God revealing himself to the prophet not in the rushing and roaring sounds of nature but in the quiet and gentle whisper. God comforted me that even though I prayed for Him to roar into this situation with a miraculous healing much the same as Ava, His plan was in the gentle whisper. So today I’ve been thanking Him that He’s being there, with all of you, in the gentle whisper. I’m not aware of the specific ways that He’s quietly showing Himself among all of you there but I’m trusting that He is. So I praise You Father! I praise You that You are faithful, that You never let go, that You have a plan and that some day we will see that plan in perfect focus and fall on our faces thanking You for being Sovereign. And right now I ask for Your gentle whispers, Your personal and private and intimate oneness with every family member to be precious and real so that they know beyond any doubt that You are indeed there and they are in Your grip. You are the only One who can make good out of any of this so like Jessica, we continue to put it back in Your hands and trust You. Thank You for her faith and her strength and her obedience. Let Your Spirit fall there, Father. Love them up and let the unbelievers who are watching SEE YOU.
Loving you up down here in MO.

  8. That has been my song this year, for different reasons! You are loved & upheld in prayer! Our church was praying for you tonight! May you have continued strength as you wait!

  9. Jessica and Josiah,

You have been so heavy on my heart. The Lord has been waking me up at night with thoughts of you. I pray often for you.

    Trish

  10. I continue to pray for you both. You are the first thing that comes to mind when I wake up in the night so I pray for you then. You both are such a testimony of God’s grace and love. May He continue to wrap His loving arms around you. I will pray that you both can get some rest tonight. Love to you!

  11. Hi Jess,
It looks like you’re getting ’round the clock prayer. God is speaking to us all at different times to call to Him on behalf of Josiah, you, and the entire family. It’s a privilege for us…hang in there, moment by moment. Love you.
    Liz

  12. Jessica,
You and I have not met, but we’ve known Josiah’s family for quite awhile as we homeschooled together. That you are sharing your journey through this blog so that we can lift your family up in prayer is so, so special. God is using your story to impact hundreds, if not thousands of lives. Our faith is strengthened as you share your experience. Our hope burns brighter as we witness your hope in our great God. Our love for you and for our Savior is sparked by your compelling words.

I am another one who has been awakened in the night by the Lord to pray for you and Josiah…almost exactly the same time each night.

    Love to all of you-
    Kathy Kester

  13. Josiah & Jess,
We continue our prayers for all of you. My heart aches for you. I just pray that Josiah can be kept comfortable. Ava and Lincoln will grow to know what a wonderful man their Daddy was. I was heartbroken reading about him having to sit down with each child and have the talk that nobody wants to have with their children, but glad that he had enough strength to do it. You are both such wonderful examples of how God wants you to honor his word. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with all of us. Josiah, you area courageous and strong man. We pray for God to comfort you.
    Love,
Carrie, Michael, Mason & Emma Sauers

  14. Jess, you and Josiah and your family have so been on our hearts. We continually hold you before the throne of His love and grace.
We just want you to know that we have been and continue to pray steadfastly for you. In His love, Rod and Janie Carsten

  15. Hi Josiah and Jess,
You are in my thoughts and prayers many hours of the day! I am amazed at the strength and Faith you have in our Lord! My prayer is that you will continue to find comfort wrapped in Jesus’ arms because He will never let go of you! Also, that your sweet babies will see Jesus through all of this!

  16. Josiah and Jessica and all your family,

All of your words and updates truly reflect the heart of Christ and is a testament to your faith in our all Loving Creator. What a powerful witness to all. Thank you.

We will continue to pray for His will and for joy and peace in this most difficult time.

    We love you.
