Thank you so much for letting Saylorville post Josiah’s funeral live. It was a real blessing to be a part of. We will continue to lift up family and friends to the Lord in the following days/weeks/months ahead. But especially for you, Jess, as you start a whole new life. I know that the Lord’s grace, faithfulness, and goodness will continue to work in you and give you the strength you need for each day.
Jessica, I do not know you personally, but we share many mutual friends and I have followed your blog with much frequency in the past couple of months. I want to thank you for allowing God to display His strength amidst your sorrow. I cannot even begin to imagine what you and your family have been through. I have been praying for you and your family and will continue to do so in the coming days. You and Josiah have been such an example and encouragement to countless people, including me. My husband and I have a 15-month old little boy, also named Josiah and I pray that our Josiah will grow to be a godly man that displays such godly character just like your Josiah did.
Jess…the service was such a blessing. It was moving and very thought provoking, and inspiring. Josiah did finish the race and I know he heard, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” I feel very blessed to have known him. He has left an amazing legacy. He will continue to speak….
Continuing to pray…
What a lovely services! Jess for two days I have been thinking this & I am just going to say it. You here people say live your life with no regrets. Well, I would say the Josiah did just that, Lived a life with no regrets. What a blessing to have touched such a rich life. The 5 years you had together were what more wonderful that some people share in a life time. Thank you for sharing with all of us. You are a true treasure & blessing your self. You & your family are in our prayers.
Jessica,
I stumbled across your story through another blog just last week. Well, lets not say stumbled….. I know that God guided me to it. My husband is battling stage IV cancer, and although he is not at the end stages, I still struggle with the thought of life without him. Reading your story, and watching the service, just gave me a fresh reminder that just has God has walked us through the last 10 months of our lives, that he will surely provide me the grace and strength that I need to one day live life without my husband. Unless God chooses to provide us with a miracle, which we know He can do. But also know that His will is what’s best for us — whatever it may be.
I will be praying for you and your children for the next several months. Thank you for opening up your life in this way to bless so many others.

You have my prayers… daily… The quote you gave, “doing the next thing” – that’s a good motto
