Ava-isms

Recent (and usually recurring) quotes from Ava:

  • I miss Peter and John and God and my Dad.
  • I’m sad because I miss my Dad so so so much
  • I love Jesus and my Dad so so so much
  • Ava: I’m so sorry mom.  Me: Why baby?  Ava: Cause I know you miss my Dad so much.
  • Hey Mom!  Did you know that my brudda is my very best friend?
  • Ava: Do you like my hat?  Me: No. I do not like your hat.  Ava: good-bye.  Me: good-bye.  Ava: Do you like my party hat?  Me: I do!  I like it!  I like your party hat!
  • In the name of the Hundred Acre Woods, I capture you!
  • I look confused.
  • What did I just say? (this is said countless times a day)
  • There she is…sweet, sweet petunia! (referring to me)
  • So.  How are you?
  • What are you doing darlin?  (again, referring to me)
  • There she is…the beautiful princess! (yes, me again)
  • I need to text someone.
  • Can I check my e-mail?
  • Can I have some gum?
  • Good-morning love!
  • How old are you?  How old am I?  How old is…(every person, animal, or thing that she can think of)
  • Are these my jumping-in-puddles boots?
  • I’m so excited to see you!
  • Ava: Did Daddy marry you?  Me: Yes baby, Daddy married me.  Ave: Hmm…was I there?
  • Ava: Can you tell me a story Mom?  Me: Once upon a time there was a little girl and she had a Daddy who loved her very much…

If you can think of any more, leave me a comment 🙂

  1. During the summer while taking Ava on a walk to Dairy Queen, she began to refer to everything (and I mean everything) as being “creepy”. The yogurt she ate before we left was creepy, the house we passed as creepy, there was a creepy truck in the street, her stroller was creepy, and then both Beka and I were classified as being creepy. So every time I hear, “That’s creepy!” all I can think of is Ava’s cute little voice saying the exact same thing.

  2. We have been brain-storming on any Ava-isms we can think of. Here are a few we came up with:

“Show me what to do” always said exactly the same sing-song way.
    “What did I just do?”
“What’s your name?” or her name or his name
    “Oh, sorry or sumthin”
    “There’s a bird. Can I chase it?
    “I’m perking up my ears”
“Is it not time for my nap?”
“Am I going to your house?”

That’s what we have so far….

  3. I’ve been praying for an opportunity to tell a story to Ava.
Here goes I hope you all enjoy.

Once upon a time there was a little girl who was the daughter of a prince and princess. This of course made her a princess as well. Her name was princess Ava. The prince and princess both loved princess Ava very much. One of her daddy’s favorite things to do was to take her in his arms lifting her high into the air and than back again to his arms for great hugs and kisses. Ava’s daddy was a prince in a kingdom far greater than any we have ever seen. One day the King told the prince that he wanted to expand his kingdom and asked if the prince would tell those around him about the kingdom. The prince quickly agreed sharing with all those he met about the King, His kingdom and the great Joy, Peace and Love that were found there. The prince took care to make sure he told princess Ava all about the King and His kingdom, because he knew that one day she would have to make a choice when the King would ask the same of her.
Now the King looked and saw that the prince was doing what was asked of him and He took great joy in the prince’s work. The King also saw a way that he could have the prince tell many more people, more than the prince would ever know. It would mean that the prince would have to leave his beautiful princesses and go home to the greatest kingdom of all. The prince was sad to leave those he loved so much, but he knew that the KIng had a plan that could not fail, and even if it seemed impossible, it would all work for the good to those who knew about the King and his kingdom.
They began to prepare for the trip. Day after day for months they prepared, and all the while people were hearing about the King, His kingdom and the prince who was to go there. Neighbors told neighbors, and friends told friends until thousands of people had heard and knew about the King and His kingdom. Finally the day of his departure came. With the great sadness of his leaving also came great joy, for the princesses knew that the prince was in the great kingdom with the King, filled with a happiness far greater than any sadness he had ever felt. Though some days are harder than others the two princesses know that one day they too will go to the kingdom to see the King and their prince once again.

    The End
