Great news from my Great God!

Ava’s cardio appointment went great!  Praise God!  Her heart is working well and we don’t need to go back for another year.  In fact, Ava is doing so well that her doc took her off the last medication she was on (baby aspirin)…she is med free for the first time in her life!  That is HUGE!  Sooooo thankful!  Relief just flooded my heart after her appointment.  On the way there, I was praying and I told God that the desire of my heart was that Ava would have a good report…but that more than that, I wanted His will to be done.  Sounds noble right?  It’s not.  I know that Ava’s life is in His hands and His plan will be fulfilled in her life regardless of my feelings on the matter…but it’s so much easier and more peaceful if I surrender to Him.  Anyway, after we got in the car after Ava’s appointment, the tears flowed and I could finally feel like I could breathe again.  I am so thankful that God showed His mercy to sweet Ava today and didn’t ask us to walk through that valley again.  He would have brought me through it…but I’m thankful His plan was mercy.

I am also thankful for the wonderful people at Ava’s cardiologist office.  You guys are the best and you all hold such a special place in my heart!  And I am thankful for all the prayers being lifted up for us this weekend…they make a difference…trust me.

Time to go celebrate with my soon-to-be 4-yr-old!

  1. OH, Praise the Lord! We’ve been praying throughout the weekend this far! God is so good! We’ll keep praying that God would bless your hearts as well as you celebrate little Ava’s birthday!

  7. We are rejoicing with you, Jessica!! We continue to hold you up before the Lord daily and EXTRA-especially this week. Off of ASA — wow!! Juls will be on it forever! Praising our God for His mercy on you and Ava …. the child all the “smart” medical folks thought would never live – “but God”!!!

    It was just so wonderful to read your praise report. I feel like singing.
    continuing to pray for Ava’s sweet birthday tomorrow. Peace waves, as Angie calls them, have rolled in on you today…..I pray they continue through the weekend.

  18. Praise the Lord!! What a blessing to finally have her medicine free. She is such a strong little girl. God has big plans for her. He’s already shown his power throughout her 4 years. Continuing to pray for all of you. Happy 4th Birthday Ava!!!

  22. I was just bound and determined to make sure you were okay at the appointment, I had my eye on you! At the risk of being a dork and playing with your curls and talking about hair, I wanted the appt to be as smooth and stress free for you as possible and perhaps take your mind off other things. Ava was so cute! She was certainly in Ava-form, cute as a button. I told everyone what she said after Dr. M brought her barrette to the room. She was a bit confused as to how it ended up in his hand and not in her hair. After you explained it must had fallen out while getting the echo, she promptly quipped in that little voice- “well, that was sure nice of him”…! When I typed her follow-up letter he called her “charming”, something they rarely dictate into a medical record…lol….but so fitting, she charms the socks off everyone wherever she goes. Happy Birthday Charming Ava!
