He is RISEN…just as He said!

I could spend this entire post talking about my memories from last Easter.  I was an angry, stressed-out woman who had just learned 2 days before that her husband had cancer.  But…this day is so much bigger than my memories and grief…this day is the day that gives me hope, for my Savior LIVES! He is in Heaven waiting for me…loving me…molding me.  And I just want to PRAISE HIS NAME! Plus, this year, Josiah is celebrating like he never has before…at the feet of Jesus…what an incredible thought!

(Casting Crowns does a great rendition of this song…gives me goose bumps every time!)

Glorious Day

One day when Heaven was filled with His praises
One day when sin was as black as could be
Jesus came forth to be born of a virgin
Dwelt among men, my example is He
Word became flesh and the light shined among us
His glory revealed

Living, He loved me
Dying, He saved me
Buried, He carried my sins far away
Rising, He justified freely forever
One day He’s coming
Oh glorious day, oh glorious day

One day they led Him up Calvary’s mountain
One day they nailed Him to die on a tree
Suffering anguish, despised and rejected
Bearing our sins, my Redeemer is He
Hands that healed nations, stretched out on a tree
And took the nails for me

One day the grave could conceal Him no longer
One day the stone rolled away from the door
Then He arose, over death He had conquered
Now He’s ascended, my Lord evermore
Death could not hold Him, the grave could not keep Him
From rising again

One day the trumpet will sound for His coming
One day the skies with His glories will shine
Wonderful day, my Beloved One, bringing
My Savior, Jesus, is mine

Living, He loved me
Dying, He saved me
Buried, He carried my sins far away
Rising, He justified freely forever
One day He’s coming
Oh glorious day, oh glorious day

Glorious day indeed!  I can’t wait!

  1. Thank you, Jessica! I was thinking about you this morning and then again at church as we sang, “I Will Rise”. Hugs and Blessings to you and your little ones.

  2. Happy Easter, Jessica! What a glorious day that will be for sure when we see Jesus and can praise Him forever for the sacrifice He made for us! What a beautiful tribute to Josiah this morning as Brent followed the Lord in baptism after being saved as a result of you and Josiah! I’m sure there was much rejoicing in Heaven today! Wanted to tell you also that Ava looked like a little princess this morning 🙂 She is just such a cutie pie 🙂 Enjoy your day…….

  3. Praying for you today, Jess! It was so cute in church today…the first person Nadia wanted to see during the greeting time was Ava. Sorry to interrupt your family this morning when she barged through to say hello to her “best friend” (that’s what she says about Ava! :-))

Happy Easter, dear friend. Let’s get together again soon. Love you!

  4. I rejoice and weep that you can be so filled with praise for the Savior. This truly is the work of the Lord, and I feel my heart bowing in worship that He would do such an amazing work in your heart. Instead of being devastated and angry, you are humble and adoring.

At times it is hard for me, as a sister, but a stranger, to grasp what you are going through. But, I do see the Hand of the Lord, and that gives me comfort for what I do not understand. Humans would not choose this life for you, but our loving God, who desires good, not evil for you, and loves you with an Everlasting love, has allowed this. We must trust Him as we watch you go through something we all wish we could have prevented.

But, how can we be distraught when we see Him upholding you with His everlasting love? How can we distrust, when your heart is bursting with praise?

I know you still sorrow, I know you miss your wonderful husband, but I worship the Lord when He gives you the ability to worship and trust through the pain. Praying for you, dear sister.
