My girl

My girl had an eye appointment last week and since we didn’t have little brother along, we made a girls day of it.  I may have mentioned a time or two how much I love spending time with my Ava 🙂

Anyway, after her last appointment (six months ago) I knew it was probably time for new glasses and she was SUPER excited about the prospect of picking them out.  Her one preference was that they should be pink…surprise, surprise.  Ava’s appointment went well, she made lots of new friends of course.  Her prescription changed just a little with her left eye needing a little stronger lens.  She does have to go back in three months because there is a possibility of her needing bifocals.  Say what?  My four year old needs BIFOCALS? Yep, that’s exactly what my reaction was.  It’s not for sure yet (that’s why we go back in three months) and my understanding is they are for the opposite reason that most people wear them.  They would actually keep her eyes from wanting to cross.  So…we’ll cross that bridge if or when we come to it.

After Miss Ava’s appointment, we headed to the mall, did some shopping, and shared a plate of chinese, which was her pick from all the options at the food court (I was happy since that is what sounded good to me too).  Here’s my lunch buddy:

Although, I mostly saw this view since she was so busy people watching.

After an exhausting day of being a lady, what’s a girl to do…

Yep, just plop down in the pool…dress and all!  It’s good being a girl 🙂

Oh, and we picked up the new PINK glasses today…

Adorable…with a capital A!

  1. What a wonderful blessing you are to your mom, Ava!! Just looking at your adorable daughter, Jessica, and seeing her contagious smile, made me smile. What a peach!

Thinking and praying for you often!

  2. It was fun to open up your blog today and find some fun pics of a girly day! What is more fun than a truly girly day! Love the new specs! Had to look closely to see the difference. I think all of our children did the bifocal thing for awhile. If you ever want to just sit and pump questions, Ken is always available. I am waiting for you all to come swim! Violet was dedicated today so we have had a fun day with all the family. Until next time….continuing to pray…

  3. Having a daughter to hang out with is wonderful, isn’t it? Tess and I just went to Walmart on Sat. to shop for her week up at Lake Ann camp. We do the most weird things when we’re in Walmart (probably because nobody would think anything about it :O) We played with bouncy balls and squishy things in the toy section. We made fun of–ah hem–undergarments! And, oh I don’t know, just laughed about stuff! I love my guys, but I’m so very thankful God gave me a daughter. So glad you two had a lovely lady day. And, you know, there are days that I’d like to just plop in a pool like that, too. Do ya think anyone would notice? 😉 BTW, my chickens are BIG and I’ve discovered that 3 of my 8 “hens” are rooster!! Go figger! We’ll be butchering soon, any interest in a field trip? Yeah, that might be kinda scary!
