Ava-isms

  • “My Papa has curly hair.  Most grandpas don’t have curly hair.”
  • “Clap with me Mom!”
  • “Would you like to smell my hands?”
  • “Cancer is scary.”
  • This is part of the conversation that ensued when we were practicing listening and responding to questions in preparation for her cardiology appointment the following day:

Me (pretending to be her doctor, which she thought was hilarious!): “What do you like to do Ava?”

Ava:  “Homework.”

Me: “Does your heart ever hurt or feel weird?”

Ava: “It just feels squishy and mushy…mushy like a strawberry.  You know.”

(While this may have been pointless as none of the questions we practiced were actually asked…it sure made me laugh so it was totally worth it!)

  • “It looks like you have a baby in your tummy Mom!”  (good thing she’s cute.)
  • “Can you give me tickles Mom?”
  • “So Mom, what does Santa have to do with baby Jesus anyway?”
  • “You needed to recharge your batteries, didn’t you Mom.”
